Simran: First steps towards Independence

31st July 2010: Today when I was dropping Simran to her class, she decided that she wanted me to leave her alone on top of the stairs and she will make way to her own class. I was a little surprised by her confidence. Since her bag was a little heavy due the show & tell stuff in it. I proposed that can I go down the stairs with her and handover the bag. She was sure, she wanted the bag on top of the stairs and then she got down the cemented stairs, holding the handrail, going through the gallery which had classrooms on both sides. I was watching her for any signals of weakness, but she didn't look back, confidently strolling through and turning towards her class. I was happy..very happy and satisfied about her progress towards growing up. Power to her.
